South Carolina became the first state to secede from the Union in 1860. Kind of like an old dog running away from home, but finding its way home.
South Carolina's flag looks Islamic with the palm tree and crescent moon. It's cool, but funky. Imagine a big ole hound dog sitting under a palm tree howling at the moon.
